West River Chemicals is a specialty chemicals business. It comprises three main divisions, namely FuelTech, Polymerics and Hydrocarbon Solvents. West River was founded in Iowa in 1987, and was incorporated in 1996 in Guatemala and then in 2001 in Mississippi. Its founder and president is Nicholas M. Irving, member of the American Chemical Society.
FuelTech, deals with proprietary fuel additives and constituents for gasoline and diesel, plus petroleum processing catalysts and technology.
Polymerics, deals with curable thermosetting systems, catalysts and elastomers through various U.S. Patents involving polymers
Hydrocarbon Solvents deals with two important solvents in the industry, widely applied in paint manufacturing, thinning at home for the DIY buyer and also in manufacturing rubber cement.
