HYDROCARBON SOLVENTS

Mineral Spirits is commonly known as paint thinner and it is a hydrocarbon distillate.  It is a clear, colorless solvent with a distinctive smell. It is used to manufacture and thin paints such as oil base and rubber base paints. In comparison with thinner naphtha, mineral spirits has a longer drying period. It is also excellent for cleaning brushes, rollers, spray guns, and even equipment degreaser.

Thinner Naphtha (VM & P) is a hydrocarbon distillate, a clear, colorless solvent with a distinctive sweat smell. It is used to manufacture and thin coatings, such as oil base paints, varnishes, enamels and rubber base paints. Products that are manufactured or diluted with this solvent are intended to be applied with a spray gun due to its fast drying/evaporating properties, thus avoiding smears on the desired surface, but it can also be applied with a roller or a brush. Another important use is to manufacture rubber cement.
